Hi everyone,
After a long hiatus from my philosophical studies, I'm hoping to reconnect with others in the Voegelin community. I met some of you back in the mid-nineties, when I was a student at LSU under Dr. Sandoz.
I know many students of Voegelin tend to shy away from his concept of gnosticism. I'm sure there are some who worry that EV might have stretched the term a little too far. But if you have a chance, you might take a look at the videos on the page below:

If you don't want to watch all three videos, make sure you at least watch Part 3. There Langan discusses his political "philosophy" and what it would be like "to know reality as God does." Hegelian influences are obvious.
He apparently has been associated with the Discovery Institute (http://www.discovery.org) and the ISCID (http://www.iscid.org). So, for some academics he is considered a peer. He has also been called "the smartest man in the world." I just wonder if he's smart enough to understand the phrase "egophanic revolt?"
