According to Zuckerman

Life is the adventure of losing your way:
how wise that sounds, such a reassuring
anapaestic paradox, but is it true
or merely clever? The adventure may not end
in happiness, fulfilment, quite the reverse.
You may stay lost for ever and ever
like that one-hit wonder with red hair
and green eyes whose name you almost remember.
Or is that the point: there was no single way,
no beaten track, only this notional path
you happened to find yourself on
and followed without rhyme or reason
until the adventure or whatever it was
led you here to an oubliette in the dark
or a tall tower on a high hill?
