Eric Voegelin on YouTube

VoegelinView is now on YouTube bringing the surviving lecture audios of Eric Voegelin to a new audience. In 1967, Voegelin gave his famous “The Man in the Cosmos” lecture. Discussing dogma, history, and consciousness, it is as relevant totday as it was then. Subscribe the journal’s channel as it brings Eric Voegelin into a new age and to a new audience; the channel will also serve as a bridge for more and future content provided by this journal. The recent webinar series by the Eric Voegelin Institute will also be uploaded in the coming weeks to this channel.

Eric Voegelin (1901-85) was a German-born American Political Philosopher. He was born in Cologne and educated in Political Science at the University of Vienna, at which he became Associate Professor of Political Science. In 1938 he and his wife fled from the Nazi forces which had entered Vienna and emigrated to the United States, where they became citizens in 1944. He spent most of his academic career at the University of Notre Dame, Louisiana State University, the University of Munich and the Hoover Institution of Stanford University.
