Fade Out Philosophy and the Coronavirus Pandemic

The perception of the fading of the world as we have known and experienced it is growing. The Covid virus pandemic in its tragic nature has one merit, if we may so sardonically define it: that of having shown us all the individual, social and political mistakes made in the last 70 years. As individuals, in most cases we have placed excessive hopes and ambitions in an endless progress of society at the expense of the environment, systematically destroying it.

As a Society we have amplified our individual mistakes exponentially, making “business” what should not and could not be: health care for example, scientific research and in particular pharmaceutical research. How can we live in a world where “rare” diseases are not taken into account by pharmaceutical companies because research is too expensive and there would be no economic return?

The life of a single human being is worth all the efforts that a civil society can and must make, without regard to expenses or company budgets.

This is not “communism”: it is solidarity, it is feeling “the other” as oneself, it is pure Christianity, it is the moral and practical lesson of the main religions of the World.

The world, especially since the ’80s, has become hostage of corporate managers, of despicable accountants called bankers, of soulless and unscrupulous bookkeepers, men greedy only for gain and power for their own sake, in a megalomaniac self-glorification in search of an immortality that human beings will never have and that no botox or hair dye can give.

Politics, all Politics all over the World, has turned into a puppet theater in the pay of and at the command of multinationals, of business lobbies, deceiving its own voters that there is a democratic power when instead all the choices are made in other secret and occult places, where the fate of an individual and his “career” is decided as well as the fate of an entire Nation and consequently of the entire World.

We are at the collapse, at the fading of that World: and yet these megalomaniac clowns who undeservedly and unconsciously hold the ranks, these impostors of the destiny of Mankind persist in believing that we can continue in the same way as if nothing had happened, as if those few had another planet on which perhaps to take refuge.

The World is not and will never be the same: it is dissolving.

The awareness of this fading is the only real intellectual and moral challenge that must be taken up by the inspired minds of the planet, putting aside professional careers and greedy selfishness, renouncing the search for Power at all costs and the overpowering of an individual on another.

Philosophy can save us; a rethinking of all scales of values must be done; logical rationality can counteract the drift of illusions artfully created by the manipulators of human consciences.

The intellectual tension between the fading World and the planning for a fair, just and careful Society to the concrete and changed needs of Mankind is the dialectic that will have to be faced and developed.

The Pandemic is now Endemic, we will live with it forever: who will save the World? Four businessmen become rich without merits that are playing as astronauts instead of building hospitals and give vaccines to the poors of the planet?

The Fade out Philosophy is the new frontier of thought and society.

You are all invited to participate in this work of rethinking the whole social, human and thought structure.

A new Man is being born, a new World: we must provide assistance to this “difficult birth”, facilitate it with all our strength and our commitment as men and thinkers, as intellectuals animated by Humility with a capital “H” (a word that in many vocabularies of the Western World is suspected to have been eliminated or wrongly connoted as something miserable!).

What has been lacking so far actually, or rather destroyed, is Humility for a reckless and satanic pursuit of Success and Money at all costs in all human and social fields.

The alternative to this new philosophical approach is the total dissolution of individuals and of the World we have known and lived: the alternative is unfortunately Death, the destruction of the human race, not for an asteroid or an atomic Bomb, but only for greedy reckless ignorance, for a willful and stubborn moral and intellectual blindness.

We need philosophers, poets of the soul, priests of a new and unknown religion without “elected” by some God of convenience and who preach that the “Promised Land” given to us by God is all our tortured planet; we need scientists who work not to get awards and certificates but only for the love of Mankind.

We have to start by learning (and for some, certainly reluctantly!) to hate a little our  selfishness and to love others as ourselves: the rest will follow.
