First Words of an Infant Bird

Rise, my little wings, so others can sing
How they saw me flying out of this tree.
Right now, as I look up at the sky
I know one day I will soar and fly
With the wind in my face
And all the warmth of the sun’s shining grace
Guiding me into that vast, verdant pasture green
Stretching out as far as my eyes can see.
But for now, I shall dream that dream
Until I grow strong and make my dream a reality.
