Pentecost

Flame of the Father burning through the Son,
Love’s inferno melting us into one,
Babel’s confusion now at last undone,
Over sin’s divisions the victory won.
Fall on us, fire of God, make our tongues speak
Your language, burn down the grammar of hate,
Make us a better dome of discourse seek,
To tell your goodness before it’s too late.
We are a family, now in this place,
All nations melted into your wide sea
That is Your glory, now we see Your face
As it is, we kiss the Trinity.
Comforter from heaven, enfold us tight,
Shining out from us your saving light.
