40th International Meeting of the Eric Voegelin Society

40th International Meeting of THE ERIC VOEGELIN SOCIETY
American Political Science Association Meeting
September 5-8, 2024
Philadelphia, PA

Friends,

I share the schedule for our annual meeting in Philadelphia over the Labor Day weekend.  Thank you for all the submissions that make this program possible.  It is an impressive demonstration of the range of interests and intellectual vitality that characterize the membership of the Eric Voegelin Society. Your creativity and good fellowship are the principal reasons we have been able to sustain meetings that are now about to enter their fifth decade. Even our host, the American Political Science Association, has begun to appreciate the contribution we make.  Not only have we been elevated to Partner status but, for the first time, we have not been saddled with Sunday morning panels.  Let’s hope it’s a trend that continues! In that spirit of cordiality, I remind you to register on the APSA website and indicate EVS as the Partner Association you wish to join. As you know we do not collect any fee, but we do solicit your voluntary contribution if you are in a position to make one. Please remember no gift is too small (or too large) in keeping our operation afloat, especially the ever-expanding profile of VOEGELINVIEW under our energetic editor, Paul Krause. The donate button has moved with Rick Avramenko from the University of Wisconsin to Arizona State University.  You may also contact our Louisiana Treasurer, David Whitney ([email protected]). Most of you already know that we lost our beloved founder, Ellis Sandoz, in September. In his honor, LSU has set up a memorial page and his family have established a memorial lecture fund to which friends may contribute if they wish. Please circulate your papers to fellow panelists and include me so that I can forward them to our archives.

With fond good wishes,

David Walsh
