David Deavel is an Associate Editor of VoegelinView and Associate Professor of Theology at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. The 2013 winner of the Institute’s Novak Prize and a 2019 Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute, he is now a Senior Contributor at The Imaginative Conservative. He is co-editor of Solzhenitsyn and American Culture: The Russian Soul in the West (Notre Dame, 2020) and his articles have appeared in Catholic World Report, Chesterton Review, Chicago Studies, First Things, Journal of Markets & Morality, Minneapolis Star Tribune, National Review, Nova et Vetera, and the Wall Street Journal.
